Week 8 – “Hands-On Fun” Photo Challenge!

February 22, 2010 · 9:20 am · Maternity

This week is all about hands! While thinking about hands and all the things we touch and hold daily, there are a few things that I love to hold. The number one being my son. He has been sick and he will walk up to me and say “Mommy hold you” and my heart just breaks from him. There isn’t a bigger miracle than the birth of a child. I got to spend some time with a friend this weekend that is 5 months pregnant and watching her rub her baby bump, I got to thinking of how that used to be my favorite thing to hold.

I took this picture a couple of months ago and I have to say that this was one couple that was so incredibly joyous about their little man on the way. We took so many images and this one just shows so much. I love her hands touching what is most important to her…the son she has yet to meet and the bible she lives her life by.

Smith Family

I met The Smith Family last year before their cutie Logan arrived. Logan is so adorable and had me laughing our entire session. He surely is a blessing to his parents. The love these two have for this little guy is amazing. Watching them together as a family was heart-warming. Little guys are such a blessing and so much fun!! I know mine is! )

Proposal

Danielle and Daniel sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G…

So Daniel called me last week and told me he wanted to surprise his girlfriend during a photo session and propose to her. I was so excited and honored to be a part of this special occasion! He had to pull several strings to get Danielle to want to take “Christmas Card” photos. I took them to a bench and got the camera ready and took two pictures, then down to his knee he went. She looked at him and said “What are you doing?” then she realized and said “Oh My Gosh”. It was the sweetest thing I’ve witnessed!! She of course said YES and several smooches later, Danielle realized she was set-up!! Congratulations you two and happy wedding planning!!

A few more from their session…

Melissa looks like a Barbie Doll in her wedding dress! She is gorgeous!! She has so many wonderful pictures to choose from. We went to the Arboretum and had a fun day yesterday even though it was H-O-T! Melissa’s sister and mother came along to help out and it was fun getting ideas from Kathy! I am so excited to capture Melissa & Eric’s wedding in July. By the way…Happy Birthday (yesterday) Eric!

Amber's Bridals

May 19, 2009 · 5:36 pm · Bridals

As much as it’s been raining, Amber and I had been worried about the weather for this day. Well, it turned out to be a beautiful day to take bridals portraits. We get to the Dallas Arboretum and there is about 20 school buses there full of young children. It was field trip day at the Arboretum. As we started trying to make our way to the first stop, Amber became a celebrity. All the little girls were yelling at her, telling her how pretty she looked. She was told she looked like a princess over and over. One little girl even told her that her shoes didn’t go with her dress! You got to love getting fashion advice from a 7 year old!! Amber was also proposed to by a few of the young boys! They were trying hard but she told them that she was already marrying someone else. I’m sure they went home with a broken heart! All in all it turned out to be a great shoot despite all the kiddos running around almost stepping on Amber’s dress and trying to get in my shots!!

I met Claire and her mom at the Arboretum today for Claire’s bridals. It was such a beautiful day so EVERYONE was there! Claire picked this day about 6 or 7 months ago. I told her she did a good job of predicting perfect weather!! Her pictures turned out so amazing!! It was so hard to choose my favorite but I think I did. Of course I can’t display it until after May 30th!! I’m looking forward to meeting DJ and taking their wedding photos!!
